At Final X, the winner of each World Team Trials bracket squares off against the previous year's World/Olympic medalist (or otherwise-seeded top wrestler) in a best-of-three series. The Final X winner earns the U.S. spot at the World Championships. Three weights this year (57, 68, 76) bypassed the WTT bracket entirely — both Final X slots were pre-set by prior placement.
