Real American Freestyle 13 brought 13 bouts to Miami on September 18, with UFC stars headlining and some of the best freestyle wrestlers in the country filling out the card. Here's how every bout played out, and what's on deck when RAF 14 hits Las Vegas on October 23.
The Headliners
Colby Covington def. Belal Muhammad, TF 10-0 (Cruiserweight Crossover Championship). The main event wasn't close. Covington controlled it from the start and closed out the tech fall in the second round.
Khamzat Chimaev def. Gilbert Burns, TF 15-4 (Catchweight Crossover). Chimaev's wrestling was every bit as advertised in the co-main, and he's right back on the card at RAF 14.
Joe Pyfer def. Luke Rockhold, TF 14-3 (Light Heavyweight Crossover). The third crossover bout of the night went the same way: one-sided.
The Championship Bouts
Kennedy Blades def. Diana Avsaragova, Fall 1:49 (Women's Middleweight Championship). The Olympic silver medalist built a 12-0 lead and finished it with a pin in under two minutes.
Jason Nolf def. Julian Ramirez, Dec 7-6 (Middleweight Championship). The closest bout of the night. The three-time NCAA champ edged the former Cornell star by a single point.
Arsen Harutyunyan def. Austin DeSanto, Dec 6-3 (Bantamweight Championship). The Armenian took the bantamweight title bout over the former Iowa All-American.
Cayden Henschel def. Johnni DiJulius, Dec 7-2 (Featherweight Crossover Championship).
The Rest of the Card
- Timur Bizhoev def. Michael Caliendo, Dec 5-4 (Welterweight)
- Chance Marsteller def. Georgios Kougioumtsidis, Dec 8-6 (Cruiserweight)
